The daughter of No Nay Never went off at 13/2 amid large support before the start for her rival True Icon, who went to the top of the betting on the omission of Sophie’s Star, who was all the rage with True Icon before the off.
Jumping away on the five furlong trip, Raydoun took the lead ahead of True Icon, with Profit and Loss on the outside of them. At halfway Tilly The Filly went to the lead as True Icon dropped out very tamely, as a five way spread began to form approaching the final furlong. Tilly The Filly was joined by Profit And Loss, Tiberio Smile, Buckshaw Village and Kindness as it got to the closing stages of the cavalry charge.

Kindness and Buckshaw Village nosed ahead inside the final furlong from their rivals and went to slug it out to the line. It was Kindness who found more close home and edged ahead by half a length at the line, with Profit And Loss coming home in third.
Tom Marquand detailed afterwards that it was great to ride a homebred winner for the owners, as David & Sue Ward bred the filly from their mare Nancy Hart.

The 13/8 favourite came into this contest on the back of a taking maiden success at Museelburgh just over two weeks earlier and took the step up in trip well in his stride, going clear two furlongs out to score from Pivoine and Regal Mirage.
Moktasaab took the field along from Duty Of Care, with Aramaic settled in third. Pivoine and Regal Mirage were happy to view things from afar as the field went down the far side and began the long turn towards home.
Duty Of Care was first off the bridle over 3 furlongs out, dropping back tamely and failing to pick up. Aramaic was sent on with two furlongs to run, and then it was simply one way traffic. As Moktasaab dropped back Regal Mirage and Pivoine came through to try and go after the leader, but the bird had flown and Aramaic kept up a relentless gallop to score by 3 and a quarter lengths to Pivoine and Regal Mirage.

His winning rider said post race that he has always threatened to be a nice sort, and that he was glad he had delivered on the day.
“This ( race ) was much more competitive than the maiden he won ( last time out at Musselburgh ), and he won nicely”.
Post race, the stewards called the representative for Sir Michael Stoute to the stewards room after the jockey, Kevin Stott, reported that the colt stopped quickly. The representative could not offer an explanation for Duty Of care’s performance. The vets did note however that during a post race examination of the horse, he had a prolonged recovery rate.
