Millennium Racing Club, Monday 7th September

This was one which we had to keep quiet until the end of September. One of the Racing Post’s journalists, Joshua Stacey, is also the co-founder of the podcast “Racing Riot” with former jockey and now trainer Charlie Poste. He is also the co-founder of the Millennium Racing Club, who have one horse in training with Fergal O’Brien in the form of Une De La Seniere.

Recently however, they have purchased another horse for the Racing Club, a handsome 3 year old horse by Policy Maker, sire of leading Irish 2 mile chaser Chacun Pour Soi, whom of which is trained by Willie Mullins.

The dam is an unraced mare named Chill The Beans, who was sired by the stallion Bienamado, a classy type who was second to Fantastic Light in the 1999 Great Voltigeur at York before scoring some Grade 1 races over in America later on in his career. An attractive pedigree at hand, well natured and easy on the eye, “Winston” will be making his racing debut in due course, and there are still shares available if you are interested in securing a place - https://www.millenniumracingclub.com/winston

Joshua had asked us if we were available a few weeks previously to produce the images and video for their new recruit, that they were planning to reveal in a “Transfer Deadline Day Special” posting on social media. Here is the video that was posted to their social media recently - https://twitter.com/MillenniumRC/status/1307712815202013185?s=20

Starting off at the pre-training yard of Francesca Nimmo and Charlie Poste just outside Stratford-Upon-Avon where Winston was being readied to head up to his new home at Olly Murphy’s shortly, he was brought out for some photos and videos with his owners, the trainer Fran and some video of him for the website and announcement. Safe to say, he has been in very good hands with Fran and Charlie, and they have done a sterling job.

Farrier's Anvil

As a bit of an aside, Francesca Nimmo and Charlie Poste are stalwarts of the point to point sphere, and leading lights in producing high quality, young horses that are very much ready to run, and always do well in their points. Indeed, they produced Garry Clermont, who looks to be going novice chasing for Jonjo O’Neill this season, to win his debut point to point at Bangor-On-Dee in February 2019, scooting away and taking the race by 15 lengths. He then fetched £150,000 at the Tattersalls Cheltenham February Sale before going into training with Jonjo, and he is very much thought of at the yard as a very good, exciting prospect. That goes to show the calibre of athlete that comes from this yard, very much a credit to the team.

We will be returning to the yard for a full, in depth feature very soon, so that is one to look out for soon. Watch this space!

Thank you again to Joshua and all at Millennium Racing Club for giving us the opportunity to provide the content for you, we are very grateful for the chance to do so! All the best of luck with Winston, we look forward to seeing him in action!
